“Art is a form of self-expression and a means by which you can share your personal feelings and emotions across to the viewer. In our society today, many people suffer in silence and this is something that I feel art can address. Art is seen as a coping mechanism for many artists and allows them to portray the struggles they face on a daily basis. The art work I create is an expression of how I see the world and a timestamp of how I felt that day. My art is a combination of my own struggles with mental health, as well as those around me. I want viewers of my artwork to understand that although mental health in our society is perceived as being something negative, expressing your feelings through forms of art allows you to let some of those struggles go. I hope for them to connect on a more emotional level, other than just liking the physical appearance of the work.”
